MY LAST TWO DAYS

As usual on Monday 25th June, I went to the philosophy class in Brighouse Library. One of the members of the class is called Keith, Surname unknown. Keith a very pleasant man told me that on Tuesdays he always goes to a Tia Chi class at Brighouse Cricket club He told me that is was important that you should be referred by your Nurse or Doctor from you local Surgery
I rang the surgery and spoke to one of the receptionists
She said that she felt absolutely sure that Dr. Crossland
would be in favour. The Tia Chi classes started at 9.30am.
My wife Sheila kindly drove me there for the class Suitably attired in very absorbent track suit Bottoms.
Keith didn't turn up for the class but there was about 20 other people there the majority of which were Women
Everyone enjoyed the class and at 10.45 the class finished
Not being a car Driver, I had to walk back about 1 mile
into Brighouse. To use an old expression it was raining Cats & Dogs. My absorbent Track suit bottoms became soaking cold & Wet
When I got back to brighouse For some reason better known to the almighty . I passed out!  and the clientele of the George Public house looked after me outside in the cold & rain and then felt it was best to call for the ambulance.
The paramedics looked after me in the ambulance until We arrived at  Calderdale Accident & Emergency.
I was in the Accident & emergency until 1800 hours
I have never had so many tests in such a short period in my life.
The final conclusion was that both my Blood Sugar level
and my Heart rate were both far too low.
There was a nasty bump on my head
and a bad pain in my sore bottom
At the earliest opportunity I should call up at Church Lane surgery
& see what Doctor Crossland has to say

THEN TO TUESDAY

I had a most unusual experience
Coming home on the bus from the hearing aid clinic. At hipperholme cross roads a small elderly lady obviously suffering Downs Syndrome
Got onto the bus with a middle aged Jamaican lady who I resumed was her carer.
Never had I met either of the two women before.
To my absolute amazement
The little downs syndrome lady
Clearly said
Good bye David

THE UPS AND DOWNS OF THE PAST FIVE DAYS

We have just had the most magnificent weekend. Starting on Saturday, our good friends, Maureen & Bruce Heath
called to pick us up and drive us to Pocklington.
There we had lunch at the Feathers Inn
After lunch, Bruce drove us to meet our other long standing friends, Wendy & Lance Murgatroyd
They have to finest caravan set up that I have ever seen
Their hospitality is without doubt the best
I had intended to have a relatively dry weekend it was not to be
We both ate & drank like true Yorkshire gormandisers
The conversations were to say the least stimulating
After a wonderful day quite late in the evening we took a taxi home.
The following day after taking a tour of Pocklington we came
back home carefully driven by Bruce
On arrival at home we called round to see Gemma, Mark & Georgia Esme , our most recent great Grandchild.
Esme had not been very well, sleeping most of the day and crying at night. It must have been most exhausting for them
After quick visit to Tesco we went home. and as is our habit went to look at the incoming Emails
One sad email told us that another very good friend of ours, Rod Blayney Simpson had gone to Spain and suffered a severe heart attack Information kindly supplied by Sue Blythe
