Railway Metrication


Just fancy using Chains in this day and age

All that I can remember from school is that they were 22 yards long, or the length of a Cricket pitch

Not sure whether the 34m stands for miles or meters

Look at the roads! Just fancy using miles in this day and age. The UK government needs to explain why it's taking so long when the rest of the world went metric 40 years ago
